Do you really need any special equipment for fitness? No. Fitness is a state of being. The major components that contribute to its maintenance are proper nutrition, unpolluted air, clean water and regular movement.
Proper nutrition is a consumption choice, which usually requires money to buy. Air and water are available in nature, with their quality largely depending on where you live. And moving can be done anywhere with nothing but a will to do it.
So why bring any of this up? Because nothing in support of your natural fitness requires equipment. So if you are telling yourself you would focus on your fitness if you only had this or that equipment, you are kidding yourself.
Instead, start by focusing on your diet. Does it provide the nature produced nutrients your body needs to stay fit. If not, change your eating habits toward consuming a healthier diet. Next, evaluate your environment. Does it supply you with air and water that’s relatively free of gunk. If not, consider moving yourself to one that does. Drastic? For sure, but if maintaining a fit state of being is your goal, then you’ll need to stop breathing in or drinking down too many toxic substances.
You’ll drink bottled water? Looking to this alternative is not a sound idea for the environment and contributes to air pollution because it requires moving another regions water long distances by truck. And this work around only solves your fitness issue if your air is pristine, but your source for drinking water is not.
Proper shoes is one piece of fitness equipment that is advisable, although not required (barefoot is preferred by some). And only wear the type of shoe particularly designed for your chosen movement activity (e.g. running or walking).
Does the content of this post seem outrageous to you? Well, it’s no more outrageous than believing if you only had some sort of fitness equipment you’d be fit. Have you been lead to believe this by clever marketing campaigns of corporations intent on making a profit off ignorance? Think about it!
